What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic Adjustments remove the interference in your central nervous system, which allows YOUR BODY to restore health through its innate healing abilities ~ all on its own!!

Your body functions because your brain tells it what to do. Your brain controls every aspect of your body, and these messages are sent through your central nervous system, which is encased by the bones of your spine.

If any of the bones in your spine shift out of alignment, they put pressure on your nervous system.

Misalignments, also called subluxations, can happen from a variety of reasons, including injury, hunching over at your computer desk, a car accident, continually looking down at your phone, or repetitive use injuries. They can also happen due to stress, traumas and toxins.

When your spinal bones put pressure on your nervous system, the nerves are unable to properly send all of the messages from your brain to the rest of your body to allow your body to function and heal at 100%.

It is critically important to have your spine checked regularly by a Doctor of Chiropractic - to identify areas in your spine that have shifted out of alignment, and adjust them back into alignment.Once your bones are trained to remain in alignment, the interference to your nervous system is removed, and your brain can regain the ability to communicate at 100% with the rest of your body, allowing function and healing to return. This philosophy is true of healing back pain and any other health condition experienced.

Once the pressure is taken off of the nervous system, the body can bring health back to the entire system, allowing back pain to resolve, health to be restored and optimal vitality to be expressed.

Chiropractic has recently become a major spotlight topic in the natural health sphere. In this excerpt from Dr. Mercola's website, he explains more about chiropractic with the help of Dr. Michael Hill — a graduate of Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa.

"With chiropractic, one of the big components I like to really help patients understand is where all health and healing comes from. We can’t deny that the nervous system coordinates all function and healing in the body. If you don’t know how to take care of it, who’s going to do that for you and help you understand the importance behind it? Education is one of the biggest components in our office.

Chiropractic technique stands on three legs: the philosophy, science and art. If we take one away, it’s easy to tip over. When it comes to understanding ‘structure dictates function,’ your spine is basically the framework of everything else that works off of that.

Then it’s important to understand that we need to identify any structural changes that are compromising the way we should function. The intimate relationship between spine and nervous system is just that. It’s intimate — if we don’t take care of the spine, the nervous system is going to fall short of 100 percent function."

In this interview, Dr. Michael Hill — a graduate of Palmer College in Davenport, Iowa — discusses Chiropractic BioPhysics® (CBP) and Gonstead, a specific type of chiropractic treatment that addresses this kind of problem. I’ve always been opposed to X-rays and don’t recommend them. In this case, however, it’s necessary, as the treatment is precisely calibrated based on the X-ray data.
